![]() ![]() His band opened the Elysium show and we talked to him a bit afterwards, and was again super nice after this year's show. I also have to say that Chris is a super nice guy. Our show was packed, I had friends at the Seattle show and that was packed. I know Mark says he's done with this kind of travel but I've got to think he'll come back out and do it again. The semi-gothic/romantic post-punk thing (Chameleons, Comsat Angels, The Sound, Echo & The Bunnymen, etc) is my jam. ![]() Same goes for I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness. The first time I heard Interpol I liked them immediately because they were obviously influenced by the Chameleons twin guitar sound. This band meant so much to me in high school and beyond. The Parish show was the best of the three. I saw them in '02 in Seattle with the very interesting additional percussionist guy and then in '10 or '11 when they played at The Elysium (which was a shock that it was promoted as a Chameleons Vox gig but it was all four of the original guys plus a bass player). How long have you been into The Chameleons? I just finished rereading it for the third time since 2008. One can hope! Have you read Mark's book? Great read. I sure wish Mark comes back again and perhaps we will get What Does Anything Mean? Basically! or Strange Times in full. You can see Dave's and Neil's guitars in this thread: ![]() It is sunburst like the original color of Dave Fielding's before he refinished it circa 1985. I was so stoked after that show that I bought a Micro-Frets Swinger a couple weeks ago, the guitar Dave Fielding (and also Neil Dwerryhouse) plays. Hearing Script Of The Bridge in its entirety was quite satisfying. Excellent show, I think the best show out of the times I have seen The Chameleons and also Mark Burgess solo in the past. I'm a longtime Chameleons fan who first saw The Chams in 1987, Mark Burgess solo in 1994 several times, the reunion shows several times in 2002 and ChameleonsVox. I was at that show at The Parish and agree the sound was great. ![]()
